I have a problem with my nissan sentra 1990. I removed the starter motor to replace the carbon brush but when removing I also removed the sparkplug so when I put every thing back I tried to start the engine but it became hard starting and then I removed the air intake or air filter I dont which one is the right term the thing connected above the carburetor then it started but it was backfiring verry loud and verry strong uneficient fuel consumption. Pls help I dont know if I need to do something with the carburetor or just replace the air filter. Thank you

Sounds as if you have an ignition lead to a spark plug on the wrong plug, re check these first.

I already tried it sr. If the sparkplug is plugged in the wrong plug it wont start. I really dont know what to do but I know that the sparkplug has nothing with the backfire. I think theres something clogged in the carburetor or not enough fuel flowing to the carburetor. Thank you very much sr.

Make sure all vacuum lines are connected, and if the plug leads are correct you will have to check fuel pressure and check the float level in the carby.
