I have a 88 grand prix 2.8 that when started it will idle fine. As soon as the accelerator pedal is starting to move the engine stumbles and dies. Engine will restart and idle fine again. Have had the TPS, MASS air flow. MAP, fuel filter, and fuel pump replaced. Also have had the converter flow tested and is OK. Any help on which other area to start looking would be appreciated.

Clean throttle plate on both sides and iac hole with choke cleaner, then check fuel pressure an dfor vacuum leaks. 41-47 psi on fp if still doing ti scan for codes.

Have you checked engine compression? Have you checked for intake gasket leaks?

Thank you. I will do that and I believe that I have located a pressure tester and will check it tonight or tomorrow. I appreciate the fuel pressure info.

I will double check vacuum and compression. I was thinking fuel issue because the idle is very smooth but will double check. I will have to verify a few other basics. I am in this car third hand with two other individuals giving up on it.

Compression is good. Fuel pressure is good. No apparent vacuum leaks. I pulled the intake off and cleaned around the throttle butterfly. Now the vehicle won't start at all and has a code 45

That deals with a rich condition. You could have a stuck injector, bad O2 sensor. When it was running, did you ever notice black smoke from the exhaust?
