Both engines for that year call for the same clutch disc so the splines are the same on the transmission. The bolt pattern for the bell housing should be the same for both engines. The concern is if the 350 was used with a manual transmission. If it had an automatic, there wont be a bushing in the crankshaft for the input shaft.
You can test a wiring harness with an ohm meter but I don't know of anyone ever doing that. If the harness came from a working car, just stick it on and it should work again. Normally we diagnose which wires have a problem, then we fix those wires. We also do not run new wires to replace old ones without finding the cause of the problem first. There can be multiple harnesses run together, and even if you replace one harness, there can be others still there that don't get replaced. You want to know why a wire developed a problem because the wires next to it could develop the same problem. That applies to wires rubbing on a sharp metal bracket or laying near hot exhaust parts.
