This is a 1986 ram 50 like a mighty max.
The lighting relay buzzes/clatters when the ignition is turned on. (Like a faulty starter noise) nothing works starter etc. Nothing. So I thought the relay is out. Not to sure about it now. It is a six pin relay, how do I test it?

Thanks, Rudy

.I think the thing you are talking about tis the seat belt warning buzzer it's on back of dash. Check the fusible links that run off the battery for being burnt. They shod have 12volts on both sides an dtwirl them a little see if the voltage drops. The one on the bottom is red and it goes by ignition switch that cold be burnt as well. They are available at auto parts and need to be correct size. They are there so you don't catch your vehicle on fire so don't go and just put any wire there.

Thank you for the respoonse. This is a lighting control relay mounted on the fender wall next to a starter relay. It has 6 pins/blades (all the same size and direction) and is a one screw replacememt. The problem for me is the only one I can find is $99.00, beleive me it is scarce. So before I replace it I need to know if it is faulty, so how do I do that or point me to a location that will spell it out?
Thanks again, rudy3n1

I really screwed up on this one don't know what I was thinking. anyhow this is how to test a relay on site h ere. yours maybe a little different due to being 6 pole but look at wires and if a couple are same color then they probably both go to your lights.
