we dropped the fuel tank in my 1984 gmc sierra 1500, it has a 305 engine. i replaced the main fuel line coming off the tank, the return line, and the vent line. now the fuel just wont go through the lines and to my engine, we've primed the carb and fuel line, tried pressuring the tank, and all lines, and yet it still wont start. what could be wrong?

possibly not a tight seal on all lines so the the fuel pump cant pull well or maybe something wrong with the pump itself. I have a 84 sierra and I had to replace the gas tank because it rusted out and started leaking. Also replaced the sending unit and the fuel gauge which hadn't worked for years started working again. I had no problems like you are describing but I only reconnected the existing fuel line to the new tank. Hope you figure it out, let me know how it goes.
