My ignition is really messed up and I use the rod on the side of the steering column to start and turn off my truck. I had a good idea on maybe I can wire a push start and toggle on and off switch to turn the truck off. How can I do this? Will everything still come on? 1983 chevy silverado 1500. Tilt steering column with automatic.

Well the thing is I dont have the money to get it replaced right now and this is going to be temporary for now. I will get it rebuilt when I get enough money.
