Are you refering to the timing chain or adjusting the timing from the distributor?

i am refering to the distributor timing i recall something about disconnecting a wire in order to get the correct reading

Disconnect the 4 wire connector at the distributor. With the engine warm and at an idle, the timing should be at 15 DBTC.
