I have totally have ran out of ideas as to whats wrong with my motor in my motor home so here go's nothing ok I bought a 1979 dodge motor home it had a 440 in it the 440 was total garbage so we put a 318 in it and the van that the 318 was in ran well there was no problems with the motor so the 318 is now in my motor home and now when I turn the key it starts but as soon as you release pressure motor shuts off we have cylonoid we have checked everything we could think of and ideas or thoughts would really help and be appreciated thanks

You need some punctuation in that huge sentence, otherwise it can be read at least three different ways. I did figure out the engine only runs when the ignition switch is in the "crank" position. That is characteristic of an open ignition ballast resistor. It is bypassed during engine cranking to make up for the lower battery voltage. Chrysler does that with the ignition switch.

Don't scrap that old 440. They're getting hard to find and are real popular.
