If there is a wiring circuit issue, replacing parts won't fix it. Use a digital multimeter across battery posts, everything off. Around 12.6 volts is a fully charged battery. Start the engine, take second reading across battery posts, engine running, the second reading should be higher than the first, if charging system is working.

I did find some alternator specs, 1966 chrysler alternator. Engine rpm@1250, alternator output 13.3--14.3 volts. Check in both places across battery posts and alternator bat terminal. What about external voltage regulator?
