Hey, i'm having issues figuring out why my car wont change from cool/cold to warm/hot. I have replaced the heater control valve because I was told it's common for those to break internally (no luck). I have tried replacing the driver side air blend motor with no luck. I checked to make sure the motor was getting power which it is. So now I have hit a roadblock as to where or what to check next. The car already had an aftermarket radio/dash kit when I purchased it. I'm trying to get it fix and/or figured out before winter fully sets in because it's almost impossible to defog my windows. I also don't want my kids to have to sit in a cold car anymore. Any help will be much appreciated.

Good evening,

I would flush the heater core. There may be dirt or debris in the core preventing circulation.

Remove both hoses from the core and use a garden hose and run it through the core. Run it both ways until you get a good even flow and the water is clear.

As far as the blend door, can you hear the motor turn when you command heat and cold?

2. Disconnect the 7P connector (A) from the air mix control motor (B). Remove the self-tapping screws and the air mix control motor from the heater unit.
3. Install the motor in the reverse order of removal. Make sure the pin on the motor is properly engaged with the linkage. After installation, make sure the motor runs smoothly.

The motor on the driver side is making clicking noises and I can see it "get stuck" kind of like a broken record. I have the replacement part (Dorman/A/C Heater Blend Door Actuator Part Number: 604-880) but cannot find any videos or install instructions.

I started to replace the part but cannot figure our how to remove the driver side knee bolster or how to make sure the new part is hooked up the right way when installed.

Thanks for your help.

Hi First, here is a link that shows in general how one is replaced:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/replace-blend-door-motor

Here are the directions for replacing the actuator which are specific to your vehicle. The second set of directions show how to remove the lower dash. All pictures correlate with these directions.

I have a 2006 Honda Accord EX, V6. Often but not always, with the A/C on, the driver side has cold air and the passenger side has heat. From what I have I have read, I believe it's the passenger blend door actuator. I removed the glove compartment but I can't find it. I really don't know what I am looking for. I have seen the part on ebay but still couldn't identify with the glove compartment removed.

Is it the blend door actuator, if not what is it?
Where is the blend door actuator?

Are there pics or video of where it's located in the accord?
I believe I read somewhere there is more than one blend door actuator, is it possible to test to see which one is the stuck blend door actuator before I remove it?

Pics or videos would be very helpful as where/ how to replace for 2006 accord, or it's equivalent.
