While driving the car sounds like it's operating at high RPM's even though the gauge doesn't read like that. The faster you go the higher that sounds like it's revving. So the a car driving on the interstate it sounds like it's revving at 6,000 RPM's while it only reads 2,000 RPM's. Everything else operates fine, shifts fine, seems like it won't go into fourth gear though. Any thoughts?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

If the RPM's sound high but aren't, the first thing I think of is an exhaust leak. Have you checked the exhaust for damage, rust, or anything leaking? Also, when you say it doesn't feel like fourth gear is working, if you are driving at 60 mph, how high are the RPM's?

Let me know.

I haven't checked for an exhaust leak but I will now. Also, the RPM's go to about 3,000 while driving at 60. Thanks for your help.

Welcome back:

Let me know if you find anything with that. However, 3,000 RPM's is too high. Does it feel like OD working?

Let me know.
