I watched the YouTube series where he built the 5.3 lm7 sponsored by summit racing. I was wondering how much the parts cost because I'm planning on doing the same with my Silverado's engine.

Hey there!

Thank you for watching the series! With all the parts and machine work, I would say round about $7000 but that was a few years ago. Prices have definitely gone up for everything.

Thank you for using 2CarPros!

Best,
Ryan

Thank you for your quick response! I watched this when I was bored in class lol. I’ll definitely follow it once I have the money to do so but I was wondering if it would also be good when boosted? I was planning on getting a pro charger as well as all these parts.

Oh for sure! Yeah totally, just open the ring end gap a bit more to handle the boost without pinching.

Ryan

I was thinking of trying to get 700 hp with the procharger(which I’ve heard isn’t hard) but I was wondering what transmission and transfer case to pair it with? I was thinking 6l80e but I have no clue what transfer case to use.

Very easy to get 700hp with that setup. Yep, I'd pick the 6L80e very good and strong transmission.

If you plan on running the transfer case hammering it with a ton of power, I would look into upgrading a MP3023 that should bolt on to a 6L80e.

Best,
Ryan
