Add transmission fluid instead of radiator fluid and the car ran for about thirty minutes. What can I do next to fix it?

Do not panic, but have the cooling system flushed and refilled right away, as in the next few days. Oil and transmission fluid will rot the hoses from the inside. They will look fine, but will rupture without warning, leaving you sitting on the side of the road in a pile of tears.

The additives in antifreeze, such as water pump lubricant, seal conditioners, and corrosion inhibitors, wear out in about two years, so the coolant should be replaced to replenish them. If you are approaching that two year interval, you will not be out anything by having that service done.
