I replaced the headlights and lens with a aftermarket light fixture and assembly since then it will not turn over at all and it's making a ticking sound as if there's bad connection coming from the area where the fuses and relay compartment is under the hood.

Hi,

Does the clicking only happen when you try to start the vehicle? There is a starter relay in the fuse / relay box under the hood. Have a helper turn the key so you can hear it. Then, locate the starter relay and place a finger on it to see if you can feel it when it clicks.

I attached a pic below showing the relay location. If that is where it is coming from, switch it with a different relay in the box that has the same part number. If there isn't one, here is a link that explains how to check a relay:

Let me know what you find. Make sure you didn't by accident disconnect any of the grounds to the body which are near the light assembly. Also, I need to confirm that the starter motor isn't engaging at this time.

Take care,
Joe

No. The clicking is happening on and of periodically. I turn the key to start there's nothing. I'm almost certain that it has got something to do with me replacing the headlights. Maybe the day before I had started the car. It has been sitting in the car port for about 3 weeks. Prior to me changing the headlights I had done body work then painted the car.

Okay, I need to know if it has Xenon headlamps or not to review the correct schematic and determine if there is something near the light which could cause it. However, other than a ground issue, I doesn't seem likely. Also, let me know which assembly was replaced, left or right, and if it is possible for you to pinpoint which relay is making the noise.

Let me know.

Take care,
Joe

I'm almost home where the car is. I replaced both lights housing lens bulbs complete. I know the name of them is happy lights. LED's. They have the capability to change colors by Bluetooth from my phone. I will send you the print of the wiring. The clicking seems to be towards the back bottom area where the relays and fuses are under the hood. I noticed the fog light wire is cut on driver's side and passenger side. It consists of 4 wires. I also notice when the clicking is happening the park lights- turn signal lights left and right are flickering as the clicking is happening. In this video you see my hand going past where the relays and fuses are. The sound is coming from that area.

Also when I try to crank the car. Nothing as far as the engine is turning over. It's the clicking and the horn is sputtering to blow I just disconnected the negative terminal to the battery because I'll be clicking on and off at times and i'm not even doing anything to the car.

Hi,

For some reason the video didn't upload. Can you resend it? Also, based on your description, it sounds like a ground issue.

I attached a pic below that shows where the grounds are for lighting. One is near the left front headlamp. The wires are brown in color. Take a look at the pic and let me know what you find.

Let me know which relay is making the noise.

Joe
