My vehicle ran out of gas. I've put about a gallon in it. It starts but won't stay running.

Good morning,

when you run out of fuel, you damage the fuel pump. Fuel keeps the pump cool and acts as a lubricant. When you run out of fuel, it is like running an engine without oil.

You need a new fuel pump.
