Has a new starter, good battery, backfires white smoke through intake, cranks slowly, volts drop down to 9 or 8 volts while cranking. I checked all the grounds and they are good, and is has a code p0113.

Hi,

That is odd. Is it possible for you to record what it is doing and upload it for me to see and hear?

As far as the code is concerned, it is specific to the air intake temperature sensor. If you remove the plastic cover from the top of the engine, you will find it on the driver's side front. I attached a picture below.

Inspect the sensor wiring and connector for damage. Also, disconnect the connector, press the release tab (pic 2 below) and turn the sensor a 1/4 turn and remove it. Check to see if there is any damage or excessive dirt on it.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

joe
