Will not start after overheating

Overheated and shut off. Now it won't start. I put water in it.

Hi:

How badly did it overheat? Does the engine sound differently when it is cranking? I'm asking because if it was overheated badly enough, there could have been engine damage or head gasket damage. If you could record what it sounds like when cranking, I may be able to tell what is happening.

Now, if that isn't the issue, then we need to check for spark and fuel to the engine. Take a look through these links, specifically, the first one.
