Will not start

Did you have the replacement PCM flashed to your car?

Do you hear the fuel pump come on with the key on? Can you test for fuel pressure?

Did you check for spark?

Yes and no fuel pressure and no sound when I turn on key. It ran when i put it in garage to change oil.

Check all your fuses with a test light for power on both sides.

Sorry about that. Not yelling. Yes we checked all fuses and relays. They are good. It ran good before with no problems.

Need to verify power to the fuel pump relay with the key on. You should have two powers. One to the control side and one for the load side.

Now have fuel but no spark.

When you crank the engine, does the tach move up a little while cranking?

Trying to see if the crank sensor is working.

The tachometer.

Sometimes the tachometer would work then it did not work while driving.

You may have a failing crank sensor which sends a signal to the PCM for creating spark.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.

2. Remove the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor.
1 Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
2 Remove the screws.
3 Remove the CKP sensor.

Hi again. We put in a new crank sensor and it still does not start. the fuel pump dont pump unless we put a fuel by pass relay in. Any ideas? Husband is all out.

I thought you said the fuel pump worked? Bypassing it is not a way of fixing it.

He just told me he used the bypass. Could it be a coil pack?

No, a coil will not cause no fuel pump. The circuit needs to be checked to see why the pump wont work. Back a few responses, you told me you had power to the inertia switch. Your issue is between the switch and the pump.

As far as the spark, you will need a scan tool to check the system. If you do not have a scan tool, you will need someone to check the system for you to verify the ignition switch and the PCM.

We tried to use a scan tool but it comes up link error. We tried a couple different ones and they said the same thing.

Usually when there is no communication, it indicates a possible PCM failure.

You need someone to check this for you.

What type of scan tool are you using? Is it a code reader or full blown scan tool?

Can obo/eobd11 memo scanner.

You are going to need a real scan tool such as snap on, tech 2 or something equivalent.

You may want to consider having someone come to you instead of a tow truck to a shop to at least diagnose it for you.

We are just leaving it. We have spent too much money trying every thing everyone was telling us what was wrong. The scanners do not work so no use taking it to someone else to run up the bill. Thanks for your help.
