Hello,
It sounds like you might have a faulty crankshaft position sensor.
Engine heat and vibration can make a crank sensor lose its internal calibration, when that happens it send error codes to the ECM and the engine gets shut down. It can happen regardless of if you are driving of at a stop.

Sometimes this will trigger the check engine light.
Is your check engine light illuminated? If so, retrieving the codes can help with the diagnostics.

The crank sensor is located on the lower left side of the engine bay (if you are facing the car).
