I have an Ecodiesel. The DEF pump went out and was replaced. It had a countdown code that stated it would not start in a certain amount of miles. When it reached 0, the truck would not turn over. It is currently at the dealership and has been there for a week. They think it is electrical but are unable to find a problem. They don't know what is wrong with it. Any ideas?

Hello,

It sounds like the system needs to be reset since the countdown to 0 occurred. Did they run a CAN scan on the truck. here is a video of the job being down so you can see whats going on:

Does the security light flash when you try to crank it over? Did they scan for codes of so did any come up? Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

They have done the scan. They got it to start and drove it and it is still throwing codes. They say they can manually make the DEF pump work, but cant even override or order the computer to make the pump work. They are thinking it is electrical.

It sounds like you have a bad ground or computer. here is a guide to help us check the wiring connections. I would check the ground G916a which is on the frame forward of the rear axle. Here are the engine wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works below.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find.
