Hi,

Will it start for a couple of seconds and then stall if you use starting fluid? If it does, then we know fuel is still the issue. If it doesn't, then suspect ignition (no spark to plugs).

Here are three links you may find helpful. The first discusses a crank no start condition, the second is how to test fuel pressure, and the last is how to test for ignition spark.

Also, you could check for diagnostic trouble codes that may help. The vehicle has an OBD1 system. All you need to retrieve codes is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip. Follow the directions in this link:

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

No it doesn't start at all. It turns over and tries to start but nothing even when we pump the gas pedal a little bit.

Hi,

It should start, at least for a couple of seconds using starting fluid. Have you tried that technique? Have you checked fuel pressure to make sure it is getting fuel?

If you did try starting fluid and it didn't make a difference, have you checked for spark to the plugs?

Is it possible for you to record the engine cranking and upload it for me to hear? That may help me.

Let me know.

Thank you for your help. The guy decided to still buy it like it is. He wants to rebuild it from the frame up.

Please feel free to come back in the future if you have questions or need help. You're always welcome here.
