My boyfriend unhooked something for the shifter from under the car, so the car won't move out of park. My shift moves freely but the car stays in park. How do I fix it back?

Hello,

It sounds like the neutral safety switch got disconnected.
It could also be the shift cable.

Either of these components will keep the vehicle from sniffing out of park or allowing you to select a gear.

Can you upload a picture of what got disconnected?
If it was disconnected, is it possible to have it reconnected?

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
