Transmission will not shift pass reverse after hitting a large hole?

I hit a really big hole now my truck won't shift past reverse. It only shifts between park and reverse.

It sounds like the shift cable got damaged but to be sure remove the shift cable from the transmission to see if you can shift through the gear which the cable connected, if so, try moving the shifter with the transmission connected to see where the problem is either the transmission internally or the shifter. Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
