Hi,
What you described can be the result of a few things. Anytime I hear of major power loss, the first thing I think of is a plugged catalytic converter. Do you notice any odd smells when this is happening? Does the check engine light stay on when the engine is running? As far as fuel pressure, that too is a possibility.
So to save headaches, if the check engine light is staying on, have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. This will point us in the right direction. Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

I realize most people don't own a scan tool; however, most parts stores will do it free of charge. If you have it done, record the codes that are found and let me know what they are.
Next, take a look through this link and let me know if anything mirrors what you experience:

Please understand, the converter is a theory at this point. Let me know your thoughts or if you have other questions.
Merry Christmas,
Joe
