The engine will not crank over - no starter operation?

The car has ran great. Get home one day and park it. The next morning I go out to leave and the battery is completely dead. Won't crank. I've got a jump off box and tried it fully charged and still won't even crank.

I have done a lot of research on Malibu and found out there's a lot of problems out there. A lot of ECM/BCM trouble. So I tried replacing the ECM plug and play programmed to my VIN number, still no crank.

I've taken my battery and got it charged up, but haven't put it in yet. I am going to try it after I put my original ECM back in.

Oh yeah, I have also measured the ground of battery cable and motor, to frame, both good.

can you help me? I have been down in my carport for a month.

Thank you.

Hi,

If I understand, the starter won't engage. Is that correct? Do other electrical components work? For example, do the lights, windows, horn and so on work?

I need to know the above info so I can properly direct you. Also, let me know if the starter itself has been checked, if you have checked ignition fuses, starter relay, and if you checked to see if there is power to the smaller wire on the starter (s terminal) when the key is in the start position.

Also, here is a link you may find helpful when checking the starter:

Also, I attached a picture of the under hood fuse box. I need you to check the fuses and the two relays. Here are a few links you may find helpful:

Let me know the specifics so I know which direction to start checking. I also need to know engine size.

Take care,
Joe
