I was driving and it stalled out. When I tried to restart all gauges came on but fuel gauge read empty, but had three quarters of a tank of gas. Also, shift indicator had no line under p when I shifted the vehicle into neutral still no indication of shifter location and no crank on engine. Tried to tow it home. Disconnected negative to restore defaults. No joy. Plugged in odb2 maxi scan to see if codes but got link error. Pulled fuses and tested with circuit tester and it lit up on all but one. At the time there was no warning lights the odd back fire and was using more gas than usual. I did put in gas system cleaner the day before but acceleration was great.

Hello,

It sounds like you lost the PCM but to be sure lets check the system fuses.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Here are the fuse locations.

If everything checks out would would try a used PCM plug it in see what happens.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

I’m having same issue on my 2006 Trailblazer base model 4.2L 6 cylinder.
Only before my vehicle stalled out on me the check engine light was blinking. A friend of mine says a ground wire may have shorted the comp. I would like to see if anyone has any other suggestions before I try replacing comp. He also tried cranking by directly connecting starter to battery it cranked but never fully started engine.
