I'm in the process of changing out the crankshaft and just wondering if I'm going to have to drop the cradle or if I can change it without doing so. Any pointers are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Good afternoon,

The engine has to be removed from the car for this procedure. You cannot do it in the car. The flywheel has to be removed as well as all the rod caps and mains.

I attached the procedure for you below. The engine and transmission drop out the bottom on the cradle and then you remove the engine and put it on an engine stand for the repair.

Thanks. I figured that was the only way but never hurts to ask.

You are welcome.

You can get an engine stand at Harbor Freight for $69.00.

Always glad to help.
