I replaced the spark plugs which took a while on this model. The mechanic said there was a problem with either one of the coils on the coil pack or a plug. I replaced the plugs. One of the plug caps was difficult to come off but finally did. I put everything back together and now it will not start. I checked all of the fuses and everything looks good.
What should I do?

So how did it run before you replaced the plugs? Does it crank and not start or no crank start? Also have you checked the computer for codes?

It ran okay before replacement. It just had a check engine light. The mechanic who is out of town said the codes said there was a problem with coil or plug. I am trying to get it smogged here in California, that is the reason I did the work. I have a small code reader and will check.

I have a new small code reader. I connected it and it will not communicate with the car. It works with my other car. I am not able to get any codes. I only changed the plugs. After I changed the plugs I disconnected the battery and then reconnected. It cranks but doesn't start. Thank you for your help.

Please check all the fuses using a test light, here is a guide to help you.

Also is the security light flashing?

Please let us know what you find.

Best, Ken
