This is a 3.2l can you tell what this could be? The pulleys on these engines are on the right side of the engine.

Hello, it could be something with the pulleys or the bearings in that system, best to check with the serpentine belt off and spin each pulley by hand. Have you had the timing belt changed? If worn out the components can make noise and should be replaced as a set.

If this does indeed have a chain I would put a screwdriver to the top of the cover there and listen if the noise is clearly audible. VVT Actuators are known to be noisy as well as the timing tensioners giving up, leaving enough slack for the chain to move around.
