Wiring harness for crankshaft position sensor removal

Do you have to drop the transmission on the vehicle listed above in order to replace the wiring harness that runs from the crankshaft position sensor to the top of the bell housing or the back of the engine believe it goes to the bell housing though?

Good afternoon,

No, not at all. The sensor is at the back of the block by the transmission and the harness goes up but does not go through the bell housing.

Can you see it go into the housing?

What is the exact issue?

Yes the solenoid itself in the wiring harness runs up where the number one is on that picture that you sent me.

Oh sorry, it has been a long week with this truck. I meant the sensor. I'm trying to replace the wiring harness and I already replaced the sensor at the bottom of the motor just can't find the other end of the line.

It goes back to the PCM. There is no connector in the line.

Again, what is the issue? Why do you think it needs a harness?

This is the wire I was told runs from the sensor to somewhere.

The vehicle is sporadically stalling. Or failing to turn over and start. So far the fuel pump was changed. The crankshaft sensor was changed, replaced the spark plug for cylinder 6. The battery and alternator are good. The starter is not clicking. At this point we aren't sure what or why this is happening, which is what lead me here.

That sensor connector just attaches to the connector that is on your sensor right now.

Yes, the picture you sent me is the crankshaft solenoid sensor correct. I have already replace that and I'm trying to replace the wiring harness. I need to know where the other end is located and how to get to it.

As I stated in my previous response, it goes back to the PCM. It is part of the main engine harness itself.
