Hello I have the car listed above 1.8 Turbo automatic. There are a couple wiring harnesses in front of the radiator and in front of the fan a group of multi colored wires that has like a bendable ribbed black housing it's right behind the fan and the fan cutting to the housing and some of the wires. I'd like to know what wire grouping is closest to the fan because we're trying to pull it away so it doesn't happen again also I'd like to know if the housing on it is required because of the heat. Also where to get the housing? Where I can buy it? But I would like to know what all those wires control I can't find a diagram anywhere.

The plastic is simply split loom. Common on vehicles to protect the harness and make things neater than having a mass of wires hanging loose. Many auto parts stores have it. If you want to be sure of the size and yours is damaged, just take a small piece with you to get the replacement material. If you want it to match the original stuff you will likely need to go to a VW dealer or visit a salvage yard and strip some off to get the same style, otherwise the common aftermarket stuff works fine. As for which harness it is. In front of the radiator is likely lighting or air bag related. If you post a few of the wire colors in it I could probably tell you for sure.
