Wipers pause in the middle during intermittent mode

Previous wiper motor broke and a new one was installed. Now the wipers function, however they rest in the middle of the windshield during intermittent/delay mode. They still park where they are supposed to normally when off, but the cycle goes up, down, back up to middle, then pauses there before continuing. Single pulse/mist operation will also cycle back to the the middle before resetting to park.

Sounds like the motor arm is out of position or the new motor has a problem on the delay board. Take a look at the motor arm with the wipers in park. The notch on the arm should line up like the image.
