Wiper motor installed new. It works with a battery charger hooked up. When I use current from the battery the ground keeps melting. A couple of schematics had a 20 ohm resistor in there because it needs to be a ceramic one does it take a lot of heat it would seem like it is my supply wire too hot and flows too many amps?

I isolated it from the ground apparently, I was shorting it out to the rubber mouth by putting washers on there and it is touching metal apparently it needs to be isolated from the car ground so that the hot and ground will work and makes motor run. Thank you for your time and patience.
