Driver's side headlight was replaced. Now windshield wipers turn on with lights, have to turn off auto lights to shut wipers off. Also turn signals work but no click sound. The driver's side headlight also looks less bright than the other one. I need help please. Thank you

Hi,

That's an interesting one. LOL Do me a favor. Disconnect the headlamp that is dimmer than the other and see if the wipers still turn on.

I'm suggesting this because if the light is dimmer, there is a chance we have a bad ground and power is back feeding to the wipers.

Let me know what happens.

Take care,

Joe

Yes, when I disconnect the wipers function correctly. Also, the resistor for the AC/heat fan has had issues in the past. I replaced it twice, but it still functions poorly. Sometimes it has a good connection, sometimes not and the fan doesn’t work. I don’t know if they are related but just in case, I thought I’d inform you. Thank you. This has sucked trying to figure it out. I appreciate the help.

Wiring issues are usually crazy. I just looked through the schematics. I noted that the body control module controls the wiper motor and washer.

Both the headlamp and wiper share a common ground, G101 at the left front of the engine compartment.

There will be a black wire at the headlamp connector. Follow that to the ground location and inspect it for corrosion, damage, or if it is loose. Or provide a new ground wire.

Pic 2 below shows the ground location.

Let me know what you find.
