Windshield washer cable and hood button

I just purchased the hood button for my vehicle after noticing the other day it was missing from the hood. As I opened the hood to connect the wire, this is what I saw as illustrated in the pictures below.
Did this DIY become a professional problem?

That looks like the hose connection for the nozzle. The plastic piece should pull out of the hose with a bit of effort and then the hose connects to the new nozzle after you have snapped it into the hoods mounting hole. The piece you have in the hose it what is circled on the picture. Be sure to put the gasket on the nozzle before you install it, without it the nozzle will be very loose and flop around.

You are welcome. See a few of those here this time of year, ice slides off the roof and shears them off like they were made of butter. Also good for damaging the wipers.
