When car is running windows will not go down or up. The one in accessory mode but can get windows to go up only from master switch passenger side switch will let window down but will not go back up. Rear window switches will not work at all. The mirrors will not adjust and door locks are not working when car running. Not sure if it's a bad ground from one of the modules or where to even look for module grounds.

Hello,

It sounds like the driver door module has gone out which is common. Here is the location of the module and the instructions on how to change it out. If you get used unit it might plug and play.

DOOR CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING/RPO CONFIGURATION

When replacing door control modules for export vehicles, all replacement door modules must be reprogrammed in order to relearn the vehicle identification number (VIN). This does not include domestic vehicles. When replacing a driver door module (DDM) or front passenger door module (PDM) the proper vehicle option configurations must be entered for both domestic and export vehicles.

The following steps explain how to program replacement door control modules:
1. For domestic vehicles proceed to step number 6.
2. With the scan tool, navigate to the main menu for the door control module that has been replaced.
3. Select Special Functions.
4. Select Door Zone Module VIN Relearn.
5. Follow the on screen instructions in order to complete the relearn procedure.

IMPORTANT: If the module being replaced is a DDM or PDM, proceed to the following steps.

6. Navigate to the main menu for the door control module being replaced.
7. Select Special Functions.
8. Select Set Options.
9. Select Vehicle Type.
10. Follow the on screen instructions in order to complete the set options procedure.

After performing the above steps the power windows must be initialized. Refer to Window Motor Programming - Express Function.

Below are the driver door module location and how to remove the door panel. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

I'm wondering if it could be a bad ground somewhere, because I had a mechanic friend hook up his computer to it and was finding that it wouldn't communicate with the car all the time it was kind of intermittent. So the other night I tried disconnecting the battery and held the positive and negative cables together and when I put it back the windows were working from the master switch with the car running but not at all the other switches will go down from the passenger but not back up and I forgot to check the back two. And now the car doesn't want to let the shifter move into gear. Not sure if they have anything to do with each other but there must be some type of sensor on the break for starting the car and shifting into reverse or drive. Not sure if they are separate problems or not still trying to figure it out cause I don't have the money to just throw at parts to find out.

If you do a CAN scan it will show all that is wrong with the car. Is the battery in good shape? Here is a video and a guide to help:

Yesterday the windows stopped working again and the driver side door actuator is intermittently working and the shifter is working fine again. How many sensors or on the brake pedal? I'm thinking there's two. One for starting one to allow the car to shift into gear?

The mirror, windows and shift lock issue can be related let try the DDM. To fix the mirror and windows and see if the shift lock problem goes away if not we will need to start a new question for the separate issue.
