Hi,

When I roll the window up or down the cap on the window handle keeps coming off and I have to keep snapping it back on. I lubricated the window track but did not help. Please see pictures one with the cap on and the other with the cap off.

Oops, all of a sudden I cannot download pictures here it keeps stating "file type not accepted". How do I fix this?

Hi,

Save the file as a jpeg. That should take care of the issue.

I'll watch for your reply.

Okay, I think I know what I did wrong. Here are the two pictures one with the handle cap on and one with it off, it keeps coming off when I roll the window up or down. Need to know how I can tighten it. Thanks

Hi,

That is a plastic handle/knob. Over time, they wear out and are not repairable. In this case, there is nothing you can do to tighten it. The handle needs replaced. Dorman (an aftermarket parts company) makes one. The Dorman part number is 76879 for your vehicle.

I looked quickly and most parts stores can get one for you for around 10 dollars. See pic below. Also, I am in no way affiliated with Auto Zone or Dorman. AZ was the first site that came up and I know and have used Dorman parts for years.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

Instead of wasting $10.00 on a new handle what I will try is too.
Switch the whole back door handle with the front door handle, that should hold me over. Ha Ha just when you thought I could not be any cheaper, I fooled ya, !LOL! Thanks Joe will let you know if it works out.

Hi,

I am all about saving money. LOL. They should be the same. If they are different and no one uses the passenger side front, use that one. Or, if there is a u-pull it salvage yard nearby, I can't imagine they would charge more than a couple of dollars.

Let me know how things work out for you and as always, let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Joe, I switched the handles and will be using them for a few days, will let you know if its any better!
We use to have junk yards in phila. But don't know of any left. Will investigate and see if there is any, I could use a good place to get hard to find parts. Later, Tom

Hi,

Sounds like a plan. I'm on the opposite side of the state from you, near Pittsburgh. We still have tons of them. If you can't find one, let me know and I'll run to a u-pull it and get one, if available, for you.

Take care,

Joe
