At one time I had the intake manifold replaced. The mechanic at the time said there was a lot of coolant in my gas and the car would run pretty rough until that filtered out. It has been a year now and still not running any better. I have to keep revving it at first start in the morning, and if I don't throw it into neutral coming up to a stop sign or light it will shut off. I'm constantly restarting this car all day, and now changing out my second starter cause of the wear. Local mechanics can't figure it out. Is there any advice you can give me besides junkyard?

Hello, I'm Danny.

It sounds like when your mechanic was changing the intake manifold a mistake was made.Maybe the gaskets were incorrect or not installed properly. If the gaskets were installed not properly or the intake manifold itself was defective that would allow coolant to enter the engine into the combustion process. That would cause the engine to perform poorly.Depending how long ago this repair was performed there might not be a warranty left.I would remove the intake manifold and have it and the gaskets inspected. This is just my opinion.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
