I have the vehicle listed above and it is my first car and although I have worked in a shop I cannot figure this out. While I was driving the engine suddenly shut off, I tried starting it with starter fluid and it would run extremely rough for a couple seconds then shut off again. Since then I have replaced the fuel pump, ignition control module, ignition switch, ignition coil, fuel filter and I know it’s getting good spark, good gas, and enough air but it still will not start. I’ve exhausted my experience and knowledge, any help is greatly appreciated

Update: I pulled my spark plugs again and I now have no spark to any cylinder, however most of my ignition system is new. So I am still totally at a lost.

Hi,

If you have spark, fuel, and compression, the only thing left is timing. Have you checked ignition timing?

If you look at the pics below, they provide the directions for adjusting timing. Since it isn't running, take a timing light and see if it is firing when it should.

If you look at pic 3, it explains what to check for an intermittent ignition problem. You mentioned that you had no spark but now do, so that is why I added it.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
