Transmission will not go in drive?

When I put it in Drive it will not go. I have to push it over in low gear then back over to drive before it will go and then it may go into gear, or I'll have to stop and do it again because it looks down, I get into the car today and it will not turn over the battery is good because all lights are bright.

It sounds like you have a gear range sensor that needs to be replaced. here is the location of the sensor and how to replace it in the images below. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
