I bought a new battery thinking my old battery was the problem, but I will try to crank the car it'll give fuses and when I either accelerate or reverse at that matter the whole car shuts off.

Hi,

Has the check engine light stayed on when the engine is running? If so, have you had the computer scanned to identify diagnostic trouble codes?

Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner. However, often times a parts store will lend / rent one to you.

Next, when this happens, does the vehicle lurch and then stall?

Let me know.

Yes, it had the previous codes recently when I took it to a Subaru dealer for 02 oxygen sensors and something else that has nothing to do with this issue now that I'm having. I can't move the car at all now it'll have some power then give in. I can always crank and reverse before the power goes out again, then it's the same routine. Now I had a buddy tell me a trick if I had a bad alternator or not if I took the negative battery socket out and I just bought a new battery yesterday thinking my old battery was the problem.

So everything electrical shuts down. Are the battery terminals clean and tight? Have you checked to make sure the main ground that runs from the battery to the engine block is tight and clean.

If you are losing all power, it has to be something between the battery and the vehicle.

Let me know.
