I am having to add coolant every one hundred miles. I was unable to locate any leak, but the coolant is sprayed around on the right side of the motor (where the tank is). My guess is that it is coming out of the overflow, but what would make it overflow?

Hello there, here is a repair guide to help you pressure test the coolant system. But overflow from the coolant reservoir could be a head gasket issue. There may be excessive combustion pressure building up in the coolant system causing coolant to push out wherever it can. How has the engine temperature gauge been looking while you are driving? Are you having an intermittent over heating issue at all?

The engine is running between 185 and 200 *F. The first that I noticed anything was at a red light, I had steam coming out from under the hood!

Hello, I am Danny.

It looks like the plastic tee is cracked! Where you able to replace/fix this? Most auto parts stores will have a generic sized replacement saving you from going to a VW dealership. Feel free to ask any questions if needed and thanks for using 2CarPros.com!
