Why is my car making a rattling noise when I push the gas pedal?

Hi,
There are several things that can cause this to happen. Can you tell approximately where it is coming from? For example, does it seem like it's under the vehicle or the engine compartment?
If it seems like it is under the vehicle, try this. Take a rubber mallet and tap the exhaust to see if you can recreate the sound. If you can, have a helper listen to narrow down where it comes from. There are heat shields that can do this and even the internal portion of the catalytic converter can do it if it came loose.
If it is under the hood, can you record it and upload it for me to hear? Actually, if you could record it and upload it for me to hear, it will likely be helpful. Also, let me know if the check engine light is staying on.
