The car drives fine when I don’t get on it. Once I try to give it a little more gas, then it seems to be hesitant around 3,000-4,000 RPMs. No check engine light. The exhaust has a little rattle when I start moving then it goes away.
I’ve changed oil, and spark plugs.
The boost seems to be fine.

Hi,

The exhaust rattle got my attention. Do you know if it is a simple heat shield, or does it come from the internal portion of the catalytic converter?

I ask because the inside of the converter can come loose and move around restricting airflow. If that is what is happening, you certainly could feel a power loss.

Take a look at this link:

Take a rubber mallet and tap the exhaust to see if you can recreate the sound. This will help pinpoint where it's coming from and if it could be the inside of a catalytic converter.

Let me know

Take care,

Joe
