Hi,

In most cases, that is normal. What happens is condensation builds up in the exhaust system as it cools. When you start it, the heat turns the condensation into steam.

The only other thing would be if engine coolant is getting into the combustion chamber. But that usually will last longer and be a very thick white smoke.

Do me a favor. First, confirm the engine coolant isn't low. If it appears low, when you see the smoke from the exhaust, confirm it doesn't have a sweat smell to it.

Let me know what you find.

Hello Joe, thanks for your reply, the coolant level stays normal, a bit higher when engine is warm, the smell is normal. It starts when I'm starting the car, after 10-15 seconds it disappears.

Hi,

Everything you mentioned points to simple condensation burning off in the exhaust. That is absolutely nothing to worry about and is normal.

If anything changes, let me know.

Take care and please feel free to come back anytime in the future.
