Hi I currently own a Toyota Echo 01 and am wondering why my car makes this strange whistling noise when stepping on the gas but goes away and then comes back when the gear changes. By any chance do you know what may be causing this and if I should get it fixed immediately?

Check for an air leak at the induction hose from the air filter to the throttle body, start here.
