Whirring and pinging sound

2006 TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA

When I start up my car there is a whirring sound. I opened the hood the other day and I could also here a ping ping pinging sound. What could cause this? Thank you so much.

I took it to two mechanics and they both said it was the altenator that a bearing was loose. Thank you though, I do appreciate you answering :) Have a wonderful day.
