Whining noise during acceleration

The noise started immediately after the repairs were made in September and have gotten louder. Firestone soaped down the valve covers and the alternator was making the noise which made no noise before. I checked the parts listed and all checked out.
I would really appreciate your thoughts and hopefully a solution for the problem. Thanks

Hi,

Often times a whining sound is related to low power steering fluid or a bad pump. Is it possible for you to record the sound and upload it for me to hear?

Also, does the sound change with vehicle speed or is it specific to engine RPM's

Let me know.

Thanks, not able to copy sound which does increase when accelerating and has started making a "gurgling" sound when going slow at first. I checked repairpal. Com and it sounds the noise is from the PCV and or valve covers.
What do you think? Thanks

Hi,

I guess there could be a vacuum leak at the PCM. Is the vehicle running normally? A vacuum leak will cause a rough idle or even a misfire.

I attached a pic of the PCV. Check it as well as the hose that attaches to it for leaks. Those runs back to the intake manifold. If you remove the PCV valve and shake it, you should hear a rattle from it indicating the check ball is free.

Let me know if I can help.
