My truck started making a loud whining noise a couple days ago.

It only makes the noise when I am giving it the gas, once I stop it stops. I can barely give it the gas and it does it, so there’s no difference in the sound depending on speed. It sounds like it’s coming from the rear end of my truck, I can hear it really good sitting in the back seat. My truck also has cool air intake.

When the RPMs are low, I can hear it better, but I think that’s only because the engine isn’t as loud as it is when the RPMs are higher.

That is hard to make it out in the video, but I do hear a whining noise.

So more than likely based on everything you described, I am pretty confident that this noise is the bearings in the rear end.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

What I would suggest is to check the rear end fluid to see if it is low and then I would suggest draining it and checking for metal.

I attached the info below on how to check the fluid level. Let us know what you find with this, and we can go from there.

Thanks
