Whenever I start driving and get about 15 mph my vehicle starts whining, it sounds like it is coming from my transmission, but it started to do it when my air conditioner went out. What would be making it do that?

If this only occurs when the vehicle is moving, suspect a noisy front wheel bearing. They typically sound like the buzz of an airplane engine. Your mechanic will run it in gear on a hoist, then listen next to each one with a stethoscope.
